August 22, 2024 - NextStar Energy’s new lithium-ion battery plant in Windsor, ON reached an important milestone marking five million safe work hours completed on site. The Provincial Building and Construction Trades Council of Ontario that represents 150,000 construction workers across the province, along with Alberici-Barton Malow JV, the design-builder on the project, released the following statement to mark the occasion.
“Today we reached an important milestone at the NextStar Energy EV Battery Plant project in Windsor, ON, marking five million safe work hours completed and bringing the project to 68 per cent complete. With the professionalism of Ontario’s skilled trades workforce, we are proud of what we have achieved together and look forward to completing the remainder of this project safely. Work opportunities, like the jobs created through the NextStar Energy project, is the best way to secure access to stable careers, and provide the training and apprenticeship opportunities that create the next generation of skilled tradespeople.”
